Mrs. Serial Killer movie review: Hindustan Times

Mrs Serial Killer has some of the worst green screen work I’ve ever seen, and Kunder’s idea of symbolism seems to be restricted to arranging a piece of rope to look like you – the viewer – are being flipped off.

And that’s the overall emotion that Mrs Serial Killer leaves you with. Not only does it disrespect your intelligence, it pretends –for a brief time towards the end – that it has been in on the joke all along. It has none of the tongue-in-cheek chuckles that producer Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Na did, but is, instead, a strong contender for one of the worst films of 2020.

The biggest spoiler about Mrs. Serial Killer is that it barely expands on the premise contained in the trailer and the official synopsis. The plot is as threadbare as the Uttarakhand town in which the film is set. There are hardly any people about – perhaps the serial killer was more successful than we realised?

The maternity home run by Sona is conveniently empty. The element of dread, which is the basic requirement for even a C-grade serial killer story to work, never enters the frame.

n just one line Work from home is anyway tough. I don’t understand why Shirish Kunder has to make it even more difficult?
